Bounder - Shetland Sheepdog born October 10, 1999
After struggling
to train our spoiled family dog Bosswell I was surprised on my 11th birthday with a Dalmatian from a local resue organization. Thrilled to have a dog
of my own I was very disappointed to find out that the Dalmatian did not get along with our other dogs and we had to
return her the following day. My mom talked to my agility instructor at the time and was told about a 7 month old
sheltie pup who was a litter sister to her own crazy, spunky, barky puppy named "Dart". So we drove to
go see the puppy and ended up bringing her home. She wasn't at all like her sister "Dart" she was shy
and reserved, but as soon as she was home I could see her begin to gain confidence.

Bounder was a super star from day one, we entered our first fun trial when she was 10 months old
and ran clean on all the masters courses. She was never speedy but was extremely consistent. She
was the perfect dog for Canadian competition, not too slow but not fast enough to ever have faults. We got high
in trial at our first competition and at our first nationals (NADAC) we won our height class. She
was extremely easy to train but also got easily worried about doing something wrong. After a while she began to
gain confidence and pick up speed and since 2004 she has been running on Canada's FCI small dog team. She is
the only dog to win 5 Canadian National championships in a row and has won every regional she has ever entered, 6 Canadian
and 1 American. Every year I keep saying it will be her last at the top but she just keeps getting faster and more confident
so I am beginning to think she has many more years left in her.
