Preston was supposed to be a border collie. After three shelties in the same height class I wanted to try
training and running a bigger dog. The plan was to get a border collie in 2008 but things don't always go to plan.
My mom found Preston's breeder (Renee Hughs) at the 2006 AAC regionals, we saw Renee running her sheltie Darwin (edges
litter mate) who was a little spit fire. My mom decided she wanted to get a puppy to train for agility and I thought
Renee's dogs showed alot of attitude and spunk, so in September 2006 my mom flew to BC and brought home baby Preston.
My mom took Preston through puppy class and worked with him until he was about 11 months old at which time she decided she
wanted to start traveling more and move to Canmore. We both knew Preston would not be happy sitting on the couch all
day in a small apartment so when my mom brought up the idea of re-homing Preston I decided to adopt him.

Preston is the first dog that I have worked alot of the foundation
training that I have learned at Say Yes, he is also the first dog I have trained a running dogwalk with. We are using
Silvia Trkman's method and so far I am thrilled with the results. Because I had a late start with Preston we havent
started competing in agility just yet, but his first trial will probubly be at the Alberta AAC regionals where he will compete
in the steeplechase class (if he's ready). He is a very happy dog and a joy to work with and I know that he will
be my best dog so far.
